MEET THE OWNER

Hello! I am Marie St. Fleur, I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) a National Certified Counselor (NCC) and a Florida Qualified Supervisor (QS) for MHC’s and MFT’s interns. I am the CEO of Paradox Counseling Services, LLC.


I hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from Trinity International University and a Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling from St. Thomas University. I have a very diverse background and over 20 years providing counseling to children, adolescents, families, adults and couples in South Florida.


My areas of expertise include working with the Severe Mentally Ill population, those suffering with depression and anxiety, substance use/abuse, addiction, anger-management, domestic violence, parenting, co-dependence, family conflict and relational problems, residential and outpatient substance abuse treatment, adolescent/ children and family crisis, domestic violence, anger management, grief and loss, psycho-education, individual, couples, family and group therapy as well as family reunification.. I also has an extensive history working with Christians and those who identify as Spiritual find their way back to power greater than themselves. I have also provided anger-management, domestic violence, parenting and many therapeutic approaches to the families I serve.


I have been endorsed for my ability to provide strong case consultation, leading and training strong teams, provide adequate substance abuse treatment counseling to Christian as well as provide non-traditional substance abuse counseling. I have strong leadership skills, am a active listener, problem solver and on-going training and coaching.


I am trained in a variety of treatment modality, which includes Cognitive Behavioral, Motivational Interviewing, Solution-Focused Therapy, Person-Centered Thinking Approach and Narrative Therapy. However, I approach each treatment based on the individual need of the client. I am integrative in my approach and focus on providing a strength-based environment. I also provide Christian counseling services, offering those who are suffering spiritually and are looking for direct belief to connect with the God of their understanding a safe environment to get well. My therapeutic approaches most commonly used is an integration between Person-Centered Thinking and Paradoxical Intervention.


As a psychotherapist, I provide a safe, empathic and non-judgmental environment in which clients can honestly work through and face situations that are impacting their lives. When meeting with me, my clients and interns are assisted in identifying their strengths and face their challenges. My role is to actively listen, affirm, provide feedback, challenge and promote change through a strength-based/holistic approach. In therapy, my main objective is to help people let go of false truths. I am available to help you face life.
